 Former Packers head coach Mike Sherman, who was assistant head coach of the lowly Houston Texans this year, had been a candidate for the Arizona Cardinals head coaching job vacated by Dennis Green.  Steelers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt got the job instead, and Sherman is now being considered a potential candidate for the position Bill Cowher left earlier this month.

Also, former Packers defensive coordinator Jim Bates has reportedly been signed by the Denver Broncos to be the assistant head coach for defense.
